My designs directly reference natural forms on the scale of individual branches and buds as well as larger ecological phenomena such as tidal movements.
Each of these memento boxes is hand-crafted and carved from a single block of wood. The common origin of the material and the preservation of its form serve as reminders of its previous life as a tree. The carvings that decorate the boxes provide further commentary on our relationship to the wood while encouraging tactile engagement with it. The interior, wrapped with textured carving, provides a welcoming enclosure for treasured possessions.
